Yep, I'm soo excited! They hatched last night. Really amazing process. Got the back up setup ready and waiting for when they are big enough and need to make room for the next batch.

Good luck, my firemouths spawned again last night, so im doing the same thing except i already have 80 firemouth fry in a tank, so 100-300 more are too much for me lol.

thats great! It took my first batch a week to get big enough to move. so what are you going to do with all of the fry you are going to have? I just found a home for all of my fry and the two males. it was too much for me to handle.

i know this thread is a couple weeks old but
i have 2 convicts in a 20 gallon with one big cave and two huge flat rocks beside it they have dug the gravel one both ends of the cave and
the female is inside and male outside the cave
does this mean they are breeding???? t.y

its very possible. take a flashlight and look into the place where the female is gaurding to see if there are any eggs

Sell them, trade them at lfs for other fish, maybe feeder fish... we'll see.

i had a lone male con, added a female and 4 days later, eggs. still have about 30 fry left growing. no spawns since though...it's been about 2 months, but i don't heat my water. that could be a factor. but it's ok, because if they have more i have no room for them and nobody to feed them too or anyone who wants them

haha where i live i can sell the to the lfs for $1 each booyah!!!!!!!!!
