I have just gotten my first Gouramis. I bought 2 females first, because I hadn't seen any at any other fish shop, then about 3 or 4 days later, bought 2 males.
The larger male has built himself a nest with assorted plant material and is vigorously defending it. He will harrass the females the most (only occasionally harrass the other male), chasing them around the tank if they come near, and it looks like he is nipping them. How can I tell if I have eggs without pulling the nest apart, and what can I do to stop him annoying the females - I'm worried they will become stressed.
