Breeding Feeder Goldfish - anyone experienced?

I've got a Red snakehead and i was thinking about starting to breed my own feeder goldfish...to cut cost and chances of getting sick feeder from the LFS...
i was wondering if anyone has an experience with breeding feeder goldfish? and if they did..if they could help me out...im a rookie...

Sorry...I breed goldfish, but to raise and keep...not to feed.

Regardless of whether you have "healthy" goldfish or not, they still lack much nutritional value. They are made up of fat, and cartalidge (sp?)...very little "meat on their bones" so to speak. I wouldn't use them for feeders, even if I did have the heart to do so.
 
Well...I'm not sure about that, but I know they aren't the easiest fish to breed, especially if all you want them for is to feed to other fish. Fry produced aren't like those of live bearers. The goldfish 'mommas' dont put off 100 fry, I can tell you that right now. ;)
 
they definitely aren't hard to breed but as stated, they don't put out mass numbers. My parents have about an 800 gallon goldfish pond with various types of goldfish including some that were bought as feeders. There are probably 50+ goldfish in their pond most of the time and there are regular batches of 20-30 babies that are usually given away to local friends and families that have ponds of their own.
