well, i have an extra ten gallon that i am looking to breed feeders for my arowana.....he loves feeder goldies, but those arent healthy and i tried feeding him feeder guppies and he wont touch them, he just doesnt bother chasing something thats so tiny and has no color...Any ideas for something healthy which i can breed for him as a snack?

:)

Maybe fancy guppies? Those are colorful. I've also heard that platties are just as prolific as guppies and are also very colorful.

In your case, I'd stick to regular guppies. If you feed your arowana nothing else, hunger will make it look for the dull colored guppies as well. I call it "the hungry law". This method is used for teaching a fish to eat new foods.

Try feeding him frozen foods, you are safer in the long run and plus a 10 gallon will not allow you to breed anything that will satisfy the appeitite of an Arrowana.

but the thing is, guppies, when i have seen him eat one, dont do anything for him , its like someone eating a potato chip for a meal lol

do fancy guppies breed just as much as feeders?

Mike, there are no fish that you can breed for this size of tank that would make your pet happy. I would stick to frozen foods, your fish will be far healthier in the long run.

No fish is stupid enough to starve itself to death.

Maybe a if there were a Paris Hilton chiclid, it would, but surely there is
not. :D

Seriously, I dind't even consider the size of your could-be spawning tank. You'd better try to feed some frozen food.

gonna stick to crickets then :dive:
