I have 2 fancy guppy males and wanted to know if I could pick up some regular female guppies at the petstore to breed them with. Will they be able to reproduce? Will their offspring?

IMHO, its harder to keep guppys from not breading then it is to just let them breed.
I have never kept the fry, dont hate me but i just let nature take its course and what survived mostly became nice feeders for my convicts.

lol Yes. If you buy them they will breed. Common or fancy it doesn't matter. If you have 2 males be sure to get at least 4 females. In my experience I like 3 females to 1 male. The boys are a bit frisky and will chase the girls until they drop if you don't have enough. Have fun! Chances will be great that the females will already be pregnant when you get them. I love that, its kind of like getting freebies from the petstore. LOL

yeh if you want specific traits in your fry, if you're not gonna use em as feeders that is lol.., then try and pick females whose gravid spot isn't dark and their stomachs aren't large. they still may have sperm from another male but it would give you a better chance for your males to "do what they do" lol with the females
