Hi! I have been breeding guppies for about 2 years now. I recently had a female give birth two only 3 fry (she was a female of only about 6 months old, very small in size) and they have small reddish sac looking things attached to them. I was wondering if this could be their yolk sac. I read something about this somewhere. If you know anything about guppy fry, I would love to hear your input. Thank you.

How are they now? Are they still alive? Long, long time ago, when I had guppies, I remember I had a few like that, but they died, they lived for a week or so, but then they died. The person I used to buy my fish from said that it was a genetic malformation.

The other day I had 8 fry born. Before I moved my guppies were having around 50 at a time and having them every other week. The sac thing is there yoke sac and they can live on it for a little while. I think 24 hours, but I am not positive on the time. Try feeding your guppies frozen brine and blood worms. I have found that feeding them frozen food helps them spawn and usually they have more fry.
