Breeding Honey Gouramies

what do you guys think?


i know that they like shallow warm water with slow moving waters.


so that i don't have to creat a tank just for the purpose of breeding Honey Dwarf Gourami, i thought about placing a long piece of slate that will cover maybe a 1/4 of the tank. this will be held by Suction cups about 7-8 inches from the top of the tank. with some floating plants.
so the fish will feel like they are in shallow waters... i tried to upload a sketch but i'm unsuccessfull.

is this making sense?
i'll keep working on uploading the sketch

I think I understand what your saying, but I'm not sure.


How much room or how many gallons do the fish have?
Cause you need atleast ten gallons to breed gouramis. And they can't have any tank mates when breeding, cause it stresses them out. They don't want to do the dirty in public. So, Yea. But yes, lower the water level and raise the temp a few degrees. And floating plants are essential.

2 Blue Rams
5 Rummy Nose
5 Cardnal tetras
4 Amino shrimps
2 honey gouramies
1 tiger pleco
1 corey
1 bango cat

1 AC 500

anyway...doesn't the 10g minimum and the shallow water theory contradict eachother?

No, not really. Its just a ten gallon tank, with a lowered water level.


So yea. Well I dunno. But uh yea. To breed them you're gonna have to get a seperate tank. Or our slate thing.
