Hello all Great forum
I have 2 jewels who have displayed typical breeding behavior and now layed eggs yesterday, as they are with 20 mbuna the jewels are 3 to 3.5 inchs(first set of eggs) the mbuna are about 1.25 inches to 2 inches, the jewels are king and queen of the tank agression is fine just chasing off. Also do i do water chages or clean gravel or leave it a bit (if water ok) as usually i do this once a week (i thought change water but not cleaning gravel).
The only hairy moment so far was when the jewel chased of my 6 inch catfish but now he knows better..
So what is the next step do i take out the fry, leave them in or what i am new to this and getting mixed reports but want to help them best i can as i love these fish they look cool and are excellent in the tank. Also how can i be better prepaired in future?? Would appriciate any help and advise.

if you don't remove the fry at about 1 week post hatch, they're going to get eaten. you'll need to set up a fry grow out tank with a cycled sponge filter, and feed them artemia nupli for the first two weeks. thereafter, any commercial fry food such as Hikari first bites and Cylop-eeze should be added. you should feed the fry three times a day and change the water three times a week.

Many thanks
