So I decided to breed my tiger barbs. I seperated the female from the male three days ago and raised the temps in the tanks to around 82f. They have been enjoying frozen bloodworms and freeze dried tubifex. So I just introduced them and all is going as planned, headstanding and all. Seeing as how everything I have read says they usually spawn in the morning I can't wait til the morning. In the first pic the female is in front and the male behind.

great looking barbs, looks like you've been doing some good conditioning. What are your water specs? Best of luck to you. I heard they aren't the easiest fish to breed but you seem on the right path. keep us updated

You need some ground plants. If the eggs fall to tank bottom they will find and eat them.

I used the flat marbles also called glass globs to spawn my danios and I was REALLY happy with the outcome. I know have a hundred or so babies who are almost ready to be sold :-D

Danios have non-adhesive eggs. Barb eggs are adhesive so won't fall between the marbles but rather stick to them and get eaten.
