Brevis Dilemma

yea. we take our threads all over the place here in rift lake cichlid. just look at what weve all done to the other ones.

no way. we keep it real lol

do your brevis have teeth? cuz the one i sold to my friend (YOU STILL OWE ME $6 AND THAT SHELL GARRET!!!) had some massive teeth on the bottom jaw that he would bite other tank mates with.

Holy cow, where to start. Yeah, you two are thread busters.
Austin: this little guy has the biggest set of teeth I've seen yet on a Tanganyikan. I'll try to get some more photos tomorrow after water change ( and glass scrubbing ). He's got some chompers. And attitude. I added the Cylindricus about 2 months after my Transcriptus and the Juli gave it hell. I didn't know if the Cylindricus would make it. It's now bigger than the Juli and has a huge gaping mouth it knows how to use. The Brevis immediately squared off against the Juli and would actually chase it 8" or so outside it's shell territory. I have a Tret, a Sexfasciatus, Calvus and Brichardi and none of them will take on the Transcriptus like that. I guess they have a built in Napolean Complex.

Sweet fish display afro good job on the fish Bro..

Thanks. I was stoked when he told me he had a couple adult shellies. The economy has really impacted the fish selection here. A year ago you could stroll into several stores and find Tangs. Now there's one and he probably takes a loss on the freshwater fish he stocks. I wish I had jumped on the chances I had for Paracyprichromis and the other Tang sardines. I don't know when they'll come around again.

yeah mine always did dammage and wernt scared of anything. but now that hes gone that spot has been taken by the caudopuncts. but he had a massive mouth that he could fit around all the other fish and he had to large teeth that stuck off his bottom lip. when i introduced my caudopuncts pack into the tank he kept attacking them but after awhile he gave up since they refused to back down to him.

That's what I'm wanting to know. I've looked at pics of most of the shellie species and haven't found one that quite matches him. My guess is that he is a Brevis.
