Brichardi-Fairy Cichlid

Brichardis are a fish that is best in a species setup once they start breeding, IMO.

Julies can definitely be worked into a Tang community setup so long as they are given enough rockwork to create a territory. Marlieri is one of the more aggressive of the complex but they would probably work with calvus in a 55g too.

I am still undecided on whether or not I'm getting them.
They caught my eye & that doesn't happen too often. Why do all the beautiful fish have to be jerks?

N. brichardi are not that difficult to keep, if you put them in a tank for their own. Best decor for them should include sand and rocks. They will create a colony, in which the juvies will help the parents in the care and protection of the new fry; as it has been said here. So, you can have a few generations of them in a 55gal tank as yours.
