Brigs Snails, Anyone?

I have another clutch now!! The others haven't hatched yet. I honestly don't know what I'm doing with them or how long it normally takes for them to hatch. As I stated before, all of my snails were one gender, I thought. Now I know differently!! ^__^;;

But yes, I have jade and striped purple-mix babies. I have no idea what they'll come out looking like. :P

Is it healthy for the egg cases to be so close to the aquarium lights? :huh:

I don't think its healthy. Most people lower the water so the egg sack isn't by the lights. I think they will dry out or sumthin like that. I don't know but I have read about this.

do you have any pix of the parents?

Not at the moment. I have old pics of them from when I first got them somewhere... let me go look for them.

You can remove the clutches from the side of the tank so when they hatch they don't fall into the water and get eaten or wear themselves out getting to foo. I flaoted mine on flat styrofoam pieces in a livebearer breeder trap covered with a damp piece of paper towel. When the babies were hatched and grow a bit they can be move them to a small aquarium with a sponge filter. A 10 gallon with a tank divider or 2 will do if there's snails from several hatches that are different sizes. The 10 gallon doesn't need to be filled all the way since the young snails will have an eaier job getting to the surface in shallower water. A bare botton makes it easier to see the babies and clean the tank. Clean water is important to snails. There are many other wasy to do this and I'm sure my wasy was far from the best.

Hatching can occur anywhere from 24 hours to 4 weeks depending on conditions.

When feeding them or if you're keeping them in your main tank you want to make sure the food doesn't contain copper since it will harm or kill yous snails.

What type of loach is it?

Here you go.

They are very old pics of them from back when I first bought them. They were dime and pea-sized at the time, but I personally think their colors on their shells are still very pretty, if a bit scuffed. I ran out of snail milk for a while and I think they chewed on each other a bit or something. I'm not sure, but I feel bad about it.

The purple one is the male and he's pale purplish grey with neon orange freckles and orange eyes. The jade one is the female and she is a deep charcoal color with orange freckles and orange-yellow eyes. I dunno if their spots and eyes come in other colors. ^_^;;

I think they are very pretty. :)

My new 4 oz shipment of snail milk should arrive this following Monday. Hooray!! :dance:

Yes, they are. I love 'em. They're so much fun to have. I don't know why I never bought any sooner. ^__^

If I had a USB cord for my digital camera, I'd snap some shots of the adults, but alas... my cats chewed the cords down to the bare circuits, so I'll have to buy a new cable when I get the chance. =/
