Is there a temp. that is too high for brine shrimp eggs to hatch? Just wondering because I know the temp in the room went up about 10 degrees and hardly any eggs are hatching. Comments?
When I turned the heat up to 86F degrees (trying to get then to hatch faster), the hatch was extremely low (and the hatchery went bad REAL fast). I'd say keep them at 80-82 for primo hatching; you can hatch at a slighly lower temp but it'll take longer.
The quality of brine shrimp eggs varies widely. If you bought a little tube from the pet store, the hatch rate will generally be pretty low. I was amazed the first time I tried the 90% hatch rate eggs. In comparison, the tube I bought at the pet store probably only had 10% or less hatch.
Also, they respond to both heat and light for hatching.
