bristle nose+pelco

1- I haven't personally bred bristlenose plecos but i know lots of people how have.Seems to be quite easy and usually happens by itself. Do a search for it on google i'm sure tons of stuff will come up.

2- "Plecos" is a very general term. Some plecos eat meat,some eat algae and vegetable matter and some are wood eaters. Specifically which are you talking about?
 
Common plecos should be fed veggies(spinach,zuchini,peas, dark greens, carrots), algae tabs, and they can also have sinking carnivore pellets, shrimp pellets even bloodworms or brine shrimp if they will eat it. Common plecos will eat anyhtign you give them pretty much.

I have a pair of bristlenoses that breed every month. They have been produceing batches of babies now for about 6 months. I have had to set up a nursery tank in my kitchen to grow the babies on so that I can exchange them in the shop for fish.

I usually get about 30-40 babies per batch.

I'm no expert, but if you would like to ask me anything I will explain what I have in my tank and what I do ok

My set up

I have a 4' tank with a large community of fish. Swords, Mollies, gaurami's, neons, various tetras, angels, cories, etc.

There is a internal fluval 4 and an external Ehiem. two large castles and various other rocks and bog wood. Also a couple of large shells. Dad has made his home in a turret of one of the castle directly under the outlet pipe for the ehiem so that a mass of tiny bubbles flow on to his home.

the fluval also flows over it so he likes the flow of water and bubbles I guess.

Apparently the males will fight if they haven't got enough room in the tank. I only have one pair in my main tank but I could put 3 pairs in there. I have enough babies constantly so I don't need to. The babies aren't aggressive in any way to each other and I take them to the shop when they reach about 3".

I don't have any special way of rearing them, they are really hardy little things. I move them to the nursery as soon as I can catch them (they are really fast). I could actually leave them in the big tank as no fish would eat them, but I move them to make sure they get enough food. I just give them agae pellets and cucumber daily. They have a normal internal filter and I do weekly water changes, thats about it.
