Bristlenose Plec Question

Aquanooby, how old is your plec?
The albino looks gorgeous is almost yellow really, is really nice.
Definately has a lot more bristles than mine....definately thinking mine might be a female now.

i just got him last thursday no idea on age. Yea he is gorgeous He is more orange.
this lfs I am going to now has great looking stock on all there fish

He is a wonderful colour, I have never seen one in that colour before.
This may sound a silly question but what is a lfs?
I am currently trying to find myself a well stocked nice fish shop, cant seem to find many near me :)

I gave my fish a treat today, decided to give them some peas for the first time, at the moment my plec is currently trying to eat one and keeps rolling over and twisting around, is really funny to watch, seems to love peas :D

beth524- Try contacting Ian Fuller through his web site: corydorasworld.com

He is also from the UK and should be able to send you to a good shop. He travels a lot.

To the OP:

1. The gender of your BN may not really matter, unless you're trying to breed. If you're just concerned that two BNs of the same sex would not get along, I really don't think that's an issue. I have two males in a 60 gallon and they could care less about each other. (I do make sure that each gets their own algae wafer each morning, tho, so no food competition).

2. You said you don't have a second tank to QT? Sooner or later, then, you're going to introduce an illness to your tank and it's either going to wipe out your stock (costing money to replace) or it's going to cost money to treat. It's just not worth it. A 10 gallon tank with an HOB filter doesn't take up much room or cost much and will save you much heartache in the future. Just IME.

Good luck

I wasnt sure if the gender would matter, as I have seen some people say that having 2 male BN together and they get angry and aren't happy. So I thought was important that I had one of each.
My tank is much smaller and is only a 69litre tank, which I think makes it a third of the size of yours, not sure if that would make a difference about how they would react to one another.

In regard to the QT tank, I have thought about getting one, but because my fish are staying with my parents, I don't have the room for another tank atm and also money is a little bit of an issue, would I just need a small filter, not sure what a HOB filter is. Does sound like a good future idea to get a small tank though :)
Thank you for the comment hollyfish btw :)
