Bristlenose pleco, or not? ID help

Yeah asking for the manager is key...... I don't think you will have too much trouble returning it.

Thanks rhiannonk, this is probably what I'll do. I really like the little guy, but one monster pleco is enough for me at the moment! :D It's a very small LFS with like 2 employees, but I'm in there quite a bit so I think it shouldn't be an issue.

It does have a nice sail for a fin but it is not a sailfin pleco aka gibbiceps. The sailfins of the pleco world are from the family Pterygoplichthys. This pleco is a type of Hypostomus. Can easily tell its not a Ptery by the small number of rays in its dorsal fin.

Some Hypostomus species can get pretty big but there are several which dont get big at all. One thing for sure though is it is not a Ansistrus or BristleNose pleco. Tomorrow if I remember after work Ill look for the exact species of pleco you own. As for now I need to take a nap for work tonight.
 
Iswartz do me a favor if you can get me a pic of the belly and the tail while its open. Looking for it and the ones im finding that look similiar to yours all get 12-13" long.
