Alright, I have had many threads about a few bristle worms in my tank, well I tryed to get the big one (22") a few times with a 3hr fresh water dip on the rock... but he survied some how... also kept the rock in a seprate tank for a few days trying to lure it out... didn't work. So, my girlfriend is in my room yesturday and sees it wraping itself around my Midas Blenny, yeah.. like a snake. This would also make sense becuase the blenny has had small prickers in it for the last two weeks and we couldn't figure out why. So moral of the story is... the worm has decided to move in with my blenny. For those of you who aren't familiar with them, midas blennys are known for backing into a hole in a rock. Mine is always in the same rock, when my tank had a problem I had to remove the rock with him in it... and when I had to treat him in a QT tank the rock had to go with him because thats where he goes when you put your hand in the tank. So I don't know what to do, I can't get him out of the rock to get the worm... right now I dont even know if the worm is in there, I know bristleworms are good for cleaning up stuff in your aquarium... but this isn't a small brisle worm, its very large, search my posts for something called "is it dead" I have pics of it, and I just recently posted a picture on another thread. Any advice would be greatly appretiated on how to remove these large worms (theres another one thats around 12") and I have a 6" one in a 2.5gallon tank. I bought a trap, which they don't care for... I've tied a frozen shrimp with a string and put it in a tube trying to get the worm to crawl into the tube, so i could lift it out... Ive tried making a trap with a plastic bottle... no sucess. The worm I have in a 2.5 gallon tank, was thrown in there after I found it... and the water had been in that tank for around 3months... with no circulation or heater... and it sayed in there like that for 6days, before i rememberd that it was in there, and now I feed it and it has a heater (no filter still) they are tough guys. I don't want to kill the worms if I don't have too... they look neat, if you can find my pics, and I'd put them in their own tank.. maybe with a mantis???????? But I need them out right now! :mad2

EDIT: Can a moderator change the title to this "Bristle Worm... again" thank you. :)

have you tried putting a piece of shrimp inside a piece of ladies nylons, put it near the rock in question and hopefully the worm will crawl onto the nylon and his bristles will get stuck and you can just remove the whole thing with him on it. 22" is definately a hazard..I try to make sure none of mine get above 5" just to be safe.

I have used the shrimp in nylon before and it worked perfectly! I put it in the front corner of my tank (easy to get to) when I went to bed and the next morning I picked it up (scooped the net underneath) and scooped about 5 worms right out of the tank! I ended up taking out some substrate too, but that's not a big deal...... I dont let any live longer than 5 or 6 inches in my tank... once they are that big I remove them.

I'll try it on wednesday, I just turned a large rock to get a coral more light... I have to see where the worms lives now to put the stocking down. THanks guys (I wouldn't let mine bigger than 5" but when I found him he was much larger already).

I deffinetly caught it! It was comming out of a rock and I grabbed it with reef tongs used for aquascaping.... and i didn't catch it but I hurt it, which i didnt plan on doing... So within the next half hour it kept showing up out side of rocks which is unusual. I tryed again and got it. Hes in a 2.5 gallon tank with another worm this one is about 18inches
