was just doing some matniance on my tank, when i noticed the birttle star near the heater...

then a couple of inches away sat one of the stars legs/ apendage whatever u wanna call it...

should i remove the detached part?
is he going to be ok? (knowing that some starfish will regenerate parts)

should i be conserned?
was it the heater that made him detach the apendage?

thanks

Well, if the detached leg isnt being consumed by scavengers then remove it. Brittlestars often loose portions of thier tentacles (thats why thier called Brittle Stars) rather easily, but as long as its healthy it will grow back.

alright, thanks...
just wanna make sure i do the right thing...
