I'm in the process of cycling my 40 gallon tank and I bought some live rock to help. A few minutes after I added the rock to the tank, I saw a bunch of what appear to be baby brittle stars crawling around the bare bottom. How do I care for them? Should I leave them in the tank while it cycles, or will they die in the process? Should I move them to my quarantine tank and possibly never find them again? What do I feed them? I know, a lot of questions, but I've never owned a starfish before. Thanks for the help in advance.

Most of the tiny brittle stars that come in as hitchhikers are detritivores, and will do well in your rock and sand bed. They will help keep things clean.
As far as surviving the cycle, you may lose a few, but they have been very durable in my hands. They will be quite prolific once the tank has settled down.
My advice is to relax and they will probably be fine.
