Brown Algae outbreak

Ever since I planted the ferns, I am getting a Brown Algae, what should be done???

I had this when my tank was fairly new. I would try an otto or two to clean it up if your fish will allow one.

should i get the Ottos, or the Algae eaters?

Is Brown Algae from not enough, or too much light????

SAEs won't eat diatoms, but Otos will. Brown algae, diatoms, is from too much silica, not light or the lack thereof.

How much fake decor do you have in the tank? I had a really bad diatom problem (brown algea), which as stated above it from too much silica. Come to find out it was because of the fake rock I was using. Once I removed the fake rock, the diatom problem went away.

I have some fake decor, but it was used in my other tank before with no problem and the funny thing this Diatom algae is mostly around and on the live plants.
