brown algea on decorations

I have some brown algea, at least that is what it looks like. Is this a problem, should I leave it alone or scrub it? Thanks

it is not really a problem. brown algea is a diatom caused by the release of sillicates in the glass of new tanks. it should start to go away on its own, but until that happens, scraping it off is fine.

Had that problem, got a bushynoce pleco, never seen it again

I had that on an established tank and I just turned the lights off for a few days.

I have a 33g tank, w/ 7 neons, 3rasboras, 6danios, 3glo lights, 1 blackphatom, 1 minnow, 2 red platys, is there a small algea eater that I can get?? Something small and NICE, that will help w/ the issue??? Thanks

brushy nose plecos work great on brown algea

I would highly recomend the bushynoce pleco, but it is not small(you can look for a small one, but they grow fast), try an otto.
