The more I look at these leaves the more I think there may be a sort of blight or plant fungus spreading. I googled around and found my own thread (this thread) near the top of the list....not much info out there.
But here's what I'm going to do today. I'm going to pick off the bad leaves (going to be a lot of leaves) :-( Then I'm going to take a specimen that looks ok and dip it in a weak bleach disinfectant, de-chlorinate it, and put it back. And watch to see how things go.
Does anyone know what various nutrient deficiencies would look like? For example, lack of potassium gives small black holes that spread and the leaf dies. But that's all I know.
cobfreak -- I'm glad you said what you said....you didn't hijack at all. Part of my solution may be to get c02 going and I'm looking at the DIY and my mate is making noises at me like "you'll be sorry you went down that road." And I feel that may be true. So your comment may not have been strictly on-topic but it is very timely.
