Brown stuff growing on gravel

Would a Chinese Algae eater be any help to this? Thinking about maybe getting one to tackle my brown Algae problem as well..

Those things will not even eat algea unless they are totally starved, and even then most would rather eat the slime coat off of your other fish. They get big, aggresive and lazy. They are one of those misunderstood "staple" species that should not even be sold without a warning stapled to thier butts.
