BROWN STUFF????

I have ,Looks like brown algae on my marine sand & dead coral pieces.The tank has been running for a bout 4 weeks & cycling: ) 0 ammonia, about 2.0 nitrite & 40ppm of nitrate----sal. 010.21 ph 8.2....Looks too be right on ,so far for cycling time?? Will the brown stuff go away soon??????????

i am having the same problem right now with my 90 marine and its an alge bloom that your tank will go through to mature. If it really bothers you try moving around the flow heads to get a better flow. Or you could go out like I did and buy a pair of Zebra Turbos they have got about 1/2 the tank cleaned back up from it. They loved the stuff. Also you could go get a sand siffting goby. I like the brown bar myself it can sift alot in a short period of time but it is a little shy at first in the tank.

If you are using tap water, then it will be a constant battle. They spread unbelieveably quick from morning to night. The good thing is some inverts. eat it.
