Question:

Would my bubble bar be in any way detrimental to the bulbs I bought and put into my tank? I know the bulbs are hit and miss (Wal Mart), and I only have 2 15 watt bulbs going (screw in "plant helpers" from Wal Mart) but I want to know if I can expect any kind of success.

The bulbs are dwarf lilly's and Apontengen hybrids.

Thanks!

It shouldn't, the only way it could affect them is if they are really close to it when they sprout and the bubbles could unroot the bulbs and let them float away. The bubbles on the surface will push the pads and blooms in the diretion of the flow but i don't think it will hurt them. I usually dont leave the pads and blooms to grow, i pinch them off so it will sprout more underwater leaves.

It might release some CO2, but dosing with Flourish Excel would fix that. Not sure if the CO2 loss would even be drastic enough to warrant Excel dosing, it depends how serious you are about your plants.
