Bubble Counter Leaking

Hi All

I just set up a 75 gallon tank. Everything went well accept for the C02 system.

I purchased the Red Sea CO2 System 500 package. After I setup the system and test the bubble counter it worked. When I hooked up the reactor and plugged it in. The bubble counter fills with water and overflows. Seems the water from the tank is going into the bubble counter.

Any ideas how solve this issue?

I believe you need an check valve installed between the regulator and the bubble counter as well as after the bubble counter.

taek some sopy water and spray down the regulator and bubble counter and every connection you have.

whooooooooaaaaa STOP here.. soapy water is great for finding leaks in air/gas systems, but lets not encourage a practice that could potentially contaminate one's tank! if water/gas can get out, then soap can get in. not good.

are you sure it is hooked up correctly? If i read correctly, there should be a check valve built into the bubble counter.

Seems to be two things that resolved my issue. The bubble counter itself wasnt locked in place and secondly had to drain the reactor of water to restart everything correctly. So far its working.

At night, do most of you just have the reactor on a timer to turn off and back on in the morning? Also you still have the CO2 flowing into the bubble all the time?

if the co2 is running, the positive pressure of the gas would keep any fluid from going in. also if tank water is traveling backwards towards the leak that pressure should also keep anything from getting in.

yes, the co2 should be turned off at night
