Greetings,

Although I have added a filter sock to my sump inlet as well as to the outlet of the skimmer, I continue to have too many microbubbles for my liking in the DT. he sump has a bubble trap as well. Perhaps I should have made more, but that is more difficult to do now since the sytem is up and running. What, if anything, else can I do to decrease the number of minute bubbles in the DT? They are especially noticeable at night when most of the lights in the rooms surrounding the DT are off and only the DT is illuminated.:hypnotized:

My thoughts - I was thinking of constructing a foam encasement to place around the sump return (outlet). This contraption would be spacious enough to not restrict flow, but hopefully the water would pass throw unimpeded, but the bubbles would get stuck. Has anyone made such a device. Do you think it will work? I figure it is worth a shot given the relative small amount of effort to construct.

Any other ideas or proven remedies would be welcome information.

You state that you have a bubble trap already... I assume you are talking about baffles in your sump... If you do have baffles and bubbles are still getting through one thought I have for you is to put a sponge similar to a regulate filter in-between one of the baffles...

I believe that will help with the bubbles but the problem being you will have to do some regular scheduled cleaning on the sponge. It will get dirty and need cleaning now and again...

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply Mike. I'll give that a try. I guess I'll go buy some sponges tonight.

Thanks again.
