Bubbles from substrate

Hey all,
I have a 46G with 6 DD black angels and 2 ABN.
It's planted with Ludwigia Repens, Swords, and crypts.
I DIY CO2, 2+ WPG. Substrate is 1/2-5/8" stones.
The plants are pearling.
But occasionally I see a “burp” of large bubbles coming from the back of the tank.

I gravel vac the open area and change 40-50% water every other day.

I don’t think these bubble bursts could be H2S but maybe so.
I did not smell any “rotten egg” odor in the tank at all.
I’ve stirred the area where the bubbles come from and got a few more.

Anyone guess if these bubbles are hydrogen sulfide?

If it doesn't smell I wouldn't worry to much. H2S smells pretty bad. If you had some I am pretty sure you would smell it.
 
I'll start stiringit. I usually just vac teh open area and leave the substrate in the back alone. I didn't want to disturb the rooted plants.

U may be right. I store water in heavy duty gallon jugs
(28 of them). After I siphon 14-16 gallons, I pour temperature corrected water into the tank. Since the tank is kinda heavily planted, I was wondering if the bubbles were collecting under an amazon leaf.
I'm afraid of a python. Somehting about adding Prime to the tank and then adding untreated water scares me. Also adjusting the water temp would be tricky, with the jugs I just put them into the bathtub with warm water.

If you have organic matter beneath the gravel you will get some gas buildup, mostly CO2, from the bacterial decay. I get this in my planted tanks, which have a layer of leaves and soil beneath the gravel.
 
Naw, I just watched very closely. It's only O2 from the pearling plants building up under an Amazon leaf till it "burps"
