bubbles

And emerald crabs, help..but are not the final answer. Be careful if you try to remove them becuase they can easily burst and then you have just multiplied your problem.

I haven't had them in my home tank but I have removed them from store tanks before and they never seemed like they would burst. I was careful of course but they weren't terribly fragile, at least not the ones I encountered.

thanks for the advice but it turns out it's not bubble algae after all. it's more like small air bubbles. they are all over the rock and in the sand. my pump is not making any mico-bubbles or any thing like that. what could it be?

I got some on the hairy mushrooms that I picked up from the last reef club meeting.. There were actually quite a few.. I just removed them by using a modeling tweezers I have and grabbing them at the base and pulling.. A couple of them popped, but I also had a bucked of SW with lugols solution for dipping the corals before placing them in my main tank anyway..

Its been over two weeks and haven't had anything show up yet..

Probably gas from bacteria. Do you have a photo of it so we can help ID it?

i never could get a good pic but i think it could be gases from bacteria also. i got a sand sifting starfish and that seemed to help. thanks
