Crap. I just bought 5 Buenos Aires Tetra and could have sworn they werent plant eaters. Now I read the are. Whats the chance of them eating them?
The're so georgous that I really want to keep them if I can!

1) yes they are plant eatters--not as bad as Siver dollars, but close.
2) they like to be in big schools of about 8-12, which will make the plant eating even worst.
3) and they grow big for a tetra (3-4 inches??)---see #2.

well being that they ARE plant eaters, the chances are high

Almost 24 hours without any noticable nipping of the plants yet.
I really love the look of these fish.. maybe enough to let them do what they want.. I have 4 java fern that they may not touch from what I read.
But I do have 2 amazon swords that may not make it... they arent in the best shape anyway. I also have some Cryptocoryne that look great though

Just watching them and noticed they are nipping at the hair algea on most of the plants, but not eating the plant itself.
