Build the filter challenge.

Yeah, you're right. Option 2: Only shut down during scheduled feedings and make adjustments to limit surface movement (up CO2 if necessary) I can still do scheduled UGJ burst to keep the bottom clean. I think this will work... Any concerns with this?

Not really... but...
Just picturing the poor lil fish wandering around minding his own business. Then... PHSHhhhhosh!!! Blasted in the a$$!
sry but the thought had me lol.

You could throw a powerhead in the UV section, Might be worth a try.

I just wonder what impact the CO2 reactor will have on the bio media

I just wonder what impact the CO2 reactor will have on the bio media

The Good News: Hopefully it would have none as it would be an enclosed and separate system. The only difference between this and one you would see on the side is that this one will be underwater (they both should still be water tight) Unless you are referring to water displacement.

The Bad News: After talking with Niko and Fishieness I think I have been turned to the dark side (Saltwater) So the last few days have been dedicated to learning as much about SW as I can to see if I feel ready to take the plunge. (this will be my first SW tank if I do)

The Good News Again: I have a pretty good plan (I think) for my heavily planted FW tank filter if I chicken out on the SW setup.

What possible impacts were you thinking of?

if the CO2 is before the bio chamber then you will have a high concentration od CO2..like fish the bacteria can be O2 deprived.

I have 2 marine tanks...lol

that set up looks like it has a skimmer area..."come over to the dark side....we have COOKIES!!)

I see. Yeah the CO2 reactor would only be housed there and would only inject CO2 into the tank itself.

I think the cookies sealed the deal!
