Building an aquarium stand... help!

Nothing really fancy. Would like it to be made of wood, with maybe a lower shelf for food etc., maybe even with cabinet doors (but that might be a bit too fancy for me to attempt).

I'd like to stain it if possible, so real wood would be best.

I don't know exact dimensions yet, because I haven't bought the tank. But I'm thinking it may have a 60"x18" or 48"x24" footprint. Plus I'm pretty short, so the stand will have to be short if I have any chance of reaching the hood. ;)

Hmm..without knowing the measurements, it's hard to really figure what you'll need, not to mention difficult to explain over a forum...but I could build one in a day at the shop;) ...but maybe this link will help you get an idea... http://www.garf.org/tank/buildstand.asp ...doors wouldn't be difficult to make at all...just make them out of 3/4" plywood and outfit them with concealed hinges..."Blum" makes a good concealed hinge...(5 piece, raised panel doors are a little difficult to make without the right tools:p)
