I am trying to save some money on a new tank for my pirhanas. I was wondering what you guys think about it. I am planning an 75-125 gallons. has anyone done it, or know how. Thanks alot

With a tank of that size, you're unlikely to save much by building the tank (I looked into it for a while). A good place to save the money, if you are so inclined, is to build your own stand, canopy, and lid.

Unless you are building a tank because you have a very exact place to put it and standard tanks wont fit, I doubt you will save any money.

IMO, the cost of a tank is nil. Its the stand, hood and/or canopy that costs the big $$.

you dont need very many tools, just some time and a steady hand. you wont save money maybe if you built a plywood/glass tank. buy an all glass tank and diy everything else. you can make everything else for the tank easily except the heater.
