Building outside turtle pond

15' X 15' X 36" is roughly 5042 gallons of water. L X W X D = Cubic feet X 7.47 = Gallons

I dont think I will go 36" all the way around, deep in one end and shallower in another. I was even thinking of making one corner a beach type area that the turtles can walk out easily to bask. I bet the average depth will only be half that. Still, I'm probably looking at 2k gallons easily.

So given those dimensions and volume, will that be enough room for 3 turtles to get along?

as long as theirs alot of hiding spots.

I would make an island in the middle some where where they can bask.. Maybe a floating log or something as well. Hiding places for a full grown slider is almost funny.. What could you use to hide a 14" turtle?

Space for them to avoid each other is your hiding spots..

^ agreed.
It isn't like fish where the attitude is "if I can see it it must go away!". As long as the turtles get their own personal space and don't feel crowded they should be perfectly fine.
