I grabbed a tadpole from my parents pond and put it into my 40g corner tank. It's now vanished, and I'm about 99% sure that there's no way anything in the tank ate it. It was maybe the size of my thumbnail, but basically spherical. It's very hard for me to get a positive ID, but it's easily the biggest tadpole I've ever seen, massive.
Checked my plumbing, checked the sump, checked the overflow, moved all my rocks/driftwood, nothing. Who knows...maybe he grew legs and hopped out of the tank, unlocked the apartment door and made it on his merry way, all in about 12 hours
