Hey, I finally found some eggs in with my gobies. I've seen the males dressed up in spawning dress and trying to woo the females....even saw the females go into the shells with the males on a few occasions..but haven't ever actually seen any eggs...till today. I peeked in the tank and saw a female actually spending time in a shell with one of the males this time, usually they'd go in for a bit, then come scooting out.

Pretty cool......I have a cycled planted 2.5 with a nano filter on it that I think I'll put the shell with eggs into...I may have to put dad in too because I don't think I'm going to be able to get him out of his shell...lol.

A few pics.....

a few eggs visible, there are more way down in there......

Awesome Emg, I've been trying to get Aquatic Wildlife to order some for me for about 2 weeks and they haven't yet, so I might be interested in another business deal :p:

great, EMG! here's hopin' they hatch! :thm:  :bday:

I only have the SG at 1.004....barely brackish....about 1teasp marine salt per gallon. I want to move it up to 2teasp per gallon eventually. Might be why they're breeding since they breed in fresh water. The temp is 80F.

Mine have been "spawning" since I brought home the little males....this is the first time I've seen any eggs though. Not sure if they'll hatch or not. The little tank I put them in has a heater in there that only gets up to 78F.

BTW...I did manage to get the shell out, without Dad in it....lol. Poor fella, looked so lost and lonely as he sat in the divit left behind when I removed his shell... :( I gave him another one though and he moved righ in.

OH....Sploke, you are certainly welcome to some if I manage to get these to survive...lol. First time bbgoby mom and all. ;)

Well, the eggs havn't hatched yet and I was beginning to think they were no good because they're white..not fungusy looking, just white. The only eggs I have seen are ram eggs and they turn brown if they're good...not sure if that's true for all fish eggs or not.

But.......this morning I noticed two tiny little black dots on each egg....looking very much like eyes.......so........Sploke...I may get some yet !

Here's hoping anyway.... ;)

Good news, hope they hatch out for you.

Well, they still look alive....little tiny eyes and all...and I can see them moving a bit......I'm just surprised at how long they're taking to actually hatch. The water temp may have somethign to do with that....the little heater I have in there only gets it up to 78F....over 80 would probably be better.....oh well...
