bumblebee goby?!

Outdated information. BBGs, regardless of species, can be kept in either freshwater or brackish.

Sometimes I wonder why we even bother giving advice on forums lol, what is right one year is not the next... :grinyes: I got mine about a year and half ago. At the time, there was so much talk about haw bad it was to keep em in freshwater. I've kept them in my light brackish tank and they are doing well.

Sorry to bump, but I think my question got lost in my ramblings.

Will freeze dried food substitute reasonably well for frozen or fresh?

Your fish will prefer frozen or live but all the same, give it a try.

Surviving Gobies

I have five of the bumblebee goby in my 75-gallon tank. A couple f them are close to a year old. Each time I buy one at the LFS they mention it is a brackish water fish. But I haven't done anything to the water in my tank and they are all doing very well. I can't say that they prefer one food over the other, but they are surviving for a long time so they are eating something:) Most of the food given to the tank is a special combination mix flake food of my own design. Every now and then some frozen food and during the summer earthworms. I have seen them munching on all the food given including crushed snails.

My only worry is that the large angelfish may snatch one up... but they haven't yet.
