Butternut Squash-sicles

I'm going to get some for my kids. Those are teeny tiny plecos!

aha! now i have a use for the nearly full bag of frozen butternut squash chunks i bought, thinking my kidlett would eat them (gotta make kids try new things right? yeah.... doesn't always work that way, lol).

funniest thing is, since i found out all the different things you can feed your snails and fish, the finkids and shellkids are eating the same vegetables as us human beans for their dinner these days, lol.

my cories like blanched broccoli stems too which seems weird, lol

I say that seems useful! I only like the tops of the broccoli. I find that the snail tank makes such a great veggie disposal, haha! I give them leftovers, lettuce that's past its expiration date, bits of parsley and celery we don't use for cooking, the ends of romaine lettuce.... plus all their normal goodies. It's a great use for all our uneaten greens! :)

Beautiful plecos and cories!

I dont ever recall putting anything into my tank that my cories DIDNT eat lmao

they are pigs

hmmmm.... my cories (emeralds) don't go anywhere near any of the veggies i put in.

well.. mine are salt and peppers

and they eat everything!

these are the only cories I have ever owned though... maybe its the type?

There was a lot of squash left this morning, so I'm thinking it just wasn't soft enough. It doesn't have the water content that green or yellow squash has. I will nuke longer next time. I was a bit timid about making it too soft and fouling the tank considering I have to put 5 large chunks in at a time so the 11 plecos can eat instead of fighting over position on 1 or 2 pieces!
