Buying crushed coral?

Where do you get this stuff? I tried the big box pet store,,they didn't have it. I tried my small lfs and they didn't have it. Does it come in a bag like gravel? Where do you guys get it? Also, I want to slightly raise the ph in my tank,,is the best way to do so gradually by putting it in the canister filter?

Why are you raising the pH?

Any LFS that sells SW will probably carry it.

Yes,,Yes,,I know stable ph is better than the proper ph recomended for certain fish,,just wondering where to buy crushed coral. Thank you anyway,,unfortanately my lfs doesn't deal with salt water fish.

I put it in my magnum 350 once in a while to raise my ph in the 125 planted . I use R.O. water so the ph is low. I have an automatic co2 system that comes on at 6.60 and turns off at 6.45.I have it set this way so that I get enough co2 into the tank. Usually I will use the crushed coral for a few days then take it out. It will keep the ph pretty steady for at least a month or more even with the weekly water changes.
I can't complain with my results.

Its very common to put a bag of crushed coral in the filter to raise ph.

Yes there is a maximum KH it will go to. I dont rememeber what it is but only so much can be dissolved. If you can find an LFS that does SW, they may just give you a cup or two of it for nothing.
