ccm terms of useage forbid speaking of politics and would so forbid the speaking of social and political activist causes that one is involved in NO?

And as far as I know the counterintelligence people do not work in the way that this is being conducted. As a chef if something smells rotten I assume it is, and this whole thing smells rotten. From what I know of counterintelligence I would have received a visit fromsomeone identifying themselves as such. Until someone properly represents themself with the appropriate identification, I wll not think it error to assume that something very funny is going on.

The truth be told the first letter has details that someone who knows things was responsible for sending to me. And the point that they tell me to be hush hush that ain't happening.

I need not to have the actual duress be in my face to make preparation to deal with it if it comes to that. Yet, I really hope that this is just some sick joke some moron is playing on me then I can breathe a sigh of relief. Yet, just incase this is more I will have the peace of mind that I have not been silent and have refused to honour a request from a strange source to be silent and just obey. Paranoia is a thing that does not totally relate in this situation, the letter and note are not things I have imagined

I as well make public if things like that registered letter and brakes on my vehicle become nothing but simple place happening.. Which I did as soon as the registered thing was simply communication from my insurance and my brake guys said it was just normal wear and tear.

I will also relate what the 2 cops find out unless of course they come and tell me a good reason why I should be silent about this. And if they tell me a good reason my approach will change. Even more so, if the people I have contacted within the government give me the same direction then I will change my approach. Yet, until that time I am not going to be silent about an anonymous letter from someone who is claiming to be a federal officer who is telling me to be a good little boy and just cooperate.

wow chef, just wow!
you do what you feel is necessary man. as long as this thread doesn't get closed.

as far as the brakes are concerned i would have found that a little suspect myself. i find it quite odd that a mechanic looked over the vehicle and didn't notice that the brake cable was missing but things do happen. considering that little piece of info i'd still find it suspect myself. the reservoir emptying and all the brakes failing on an older vehicle... not so much suspect imo.

now, one thing i do know is that down here (in every state i've been to) ALL safety features MUST be in perfect working conditions for a vehicle to be inspected and deemed road worthy BEFORE it's considered legal to drive. in some states such an inspection would be done at the time of purchase before you're able to put the vehicle on the road (usually there's a short grace period [10 days is common]) while in others it's mandated to be done annually or bi-annually.

i find it highly unlikely that such an important safety feature as a backup (emergency) brake system would be something that would be overlooked by a mechanic (especially one you know and trust). the placement of such a cable is something that should be all too obvious if your vehicle were to be put on a lift also. heck, i can find mine on all my cars by laying on the ground more than 10 feet away from the vehicle and i'd know they were missing without an adequate inspection and i learned just about everything i know about cars in my garage, basically by myself. that cable could easily be removed without showing any signs of tampering also. with a little tug on the brake lines (if they were old and brittle in the first place) one could easily cause a leak in the line which could easily be disregarded as normal wear and tear by someone looking over it after the fact. it would take nothing short of a clean pair of mechanics gloves and a short drive down the highway to cover any tracks of such "tinkering". i digress, **** does happen.

you are right to be suspicious imo... it's too easy to get away with.

considering the turns of events immediately prior to the brakes going bad i'd be very careful with my family just in case. i would definitely do my best to keep it out of my head that that might have been foul play since that (mentally at the very least) can only lead to bad things.

once again, no matter what help and advice you get you have to make decisions when concerning safety of your family and how you proceed in such events yourself. do what you think is best as you definitely have a decent (albeit somewhat twisted [understandably at this point]) head on your shoulders.

you have my best wishes for sure through these trying times. be careful and diligent in your quest for answers and by all means consider the safety of those babies prior to anything concerning these events. good luck, and i hope you get to the bottom of things very, very soon.

take it easy chef and i hope you can breathe a sigh of relief in the very near future.

If this paranoia of yours is brought on by some political view of yours or by some by some social causes you are part of, then you have bigger problems that some random package you receive.

From my perspective as an outsider looking into your situation, It still appears to be mostly in your head. Like I said efore, your first package is suspect, however you are overreacting to everything since. Working yourself up into a panic is not a good and safe thing for you or your family.

There are professional councilors that can help you with this....

Chef I have been keeping my mouth shut on this issue for a while. This sounds like a sick joke from someone who knows you.

As to the brake issue I can say first hand that I have seen mechanics miss things like that. Just last week I had my oil changes and the mechanic came in and told another gentleman that he had a brake cable disconnected. He drove a Subaru and with how the brake cable is attached the clamps had a known issue of rusting and falling off.

Does it sound reasonable that the Canadian government would keep track of your movements and possibly the movements of all 34 million of your country men and women? In order to your story to hold water someone would have had to have followed you around from either your country or the Pilipino Gov. I don't know about the laws in Canada but it is illegal the law to impersonate a government official.

This sounds like an issue your police dept should handle as 10 year old intelligence is worth less then tp.

Any government agency worth anything would not have sent you a package telling you to send it back with your footwear from a trip 10 years ago. You would have either been contacted by that agency in writing or in person, or been served with a warrant for that item. I haven’t read through all of the posts here but this doesn’t sound all that rational to me.

This is why if this is some sick joke the person is in for a rude wake up call because right now there are 3 sources looking into it with the regina police being one. For sure it really seems whacked to me. If it is a joke they and they get caught they will meet the full extent of the law.

Just waiting to see what comes back on who owns the po box addie on the box and what if anything comes from running the possible plate numbers.

On the long shot this is more than just a joke, I prefer to have laid some preperatory measures. Regardless of what people think paranoia is not a flavour I eat.

the above quote is exactly why this whole thing is so messed up in my books.
