Calcium at 560

I tested my calcium after finally getting a test kit and it was 560 which is too high is it not? How do I lower it?

you want calcium to be at around 400-500 to lower it you need to remove it physically.. water changes are your best friend

Are you using Oceanic salt?? If so you'll have to switch salt brands to lower it. I started with Oceanic salt and even freshly mixed salt had calcium of 560-580. Switched over to reef crystals and the calcium is dropping at every water change. I'm down to 500 now.

Got to admit since I've switched to reef crystal my calcium level is dropping ( Mine was 650++ now 500) this thread might also help http://www.aquariacentral.com/articles/calcium.shtml which I found helpful when rsw686 and I were both having high calc problems at the same time.
