Calcium for snails.

there are differences in the types of calcium supplements. some use calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) and others are calcium sulfate (CaSO4), still others may be calcium chloride (CaCl2), even though they're all designed for coral/reef marine tanks. I think some people have concerns about the non-calcium part of the salts. I forgot where I read about the differences, like possibly affecting plants. Maybe do a search for "calcium supplements". It may be on aquariumboard, too.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link. It was a very interesting and full of all sorts of chemistry. I need to learn more about all that stuff I think lol.

I know! There's tons of stuff to learn. I have (in order chronologically) fish, shrimps, plants, snails. Each one has different chemistry requirements, and I am having to balance all of that. I hope that link helps you and doesn't confuse you hopelessly. I couldn't follow it myself.

Ha... It did throw me for a loop, but if I'm gonna be keeping snails and such, I guess it's all stuff I need to learn eventually. When I started this whole fish thing, I didn't even know what a test kit was lol.
