And should i buy a controller before i buy the calcium reactor?

I don't have a calcium reactor because the calcium drain in my system is not that great. I can just dose from time to time to keep the calcium level around 400. Hopefully someone who is using one will chime in.

Are you keeping a lot of SPS?

I plan on keeping a lot of sps. I read that using a calcium reactor will lower your ph, and that it is sometimes a good idea to use Limewater in conjustion with the reactor. Would you recomend doing this?

Limewater is what I do for my top offs. Limewater raises Alk + CA in proper ratios. Here is a quick break down of the common methods to dose:

Full Automated
CA Reactor + Kalk Reactor + LitreMeter III + Controller

Partially Automated
Kalk ATO + 2 or 3 Part automatic Doser

Full Hands On
2 or 3 Part Dosing - Alk, Ca, Mg liquids daily

The important thing is to keep on top of your testing of parameters and Document them in a log. It may not seem important at the time but months down the road you would like to look back and see how things have progressed. Document your daily additions in ml the amount of 2 part you dose if you go that method. For me, I chose Kalk ATO plus 3 Part because I like a little hands on. The Kalk ATO makes sure Alk/CA don't fall too low and then I dose B-Ionic + Magnesium after I test to see how much to dose of each one. As an example, say my CA was 360 and I want it up to 440 in a 100G tank, by the calculator it says you need to add 10 gallons of Limewater to raise your CA, that would spike your pH so high it would kill everything. So you dose CA by itself to raise it a little each day. I tell people to never raise it more than 40 a day, try and keep it around 20 on CA when you have to raise it. Anyway, hope that helped.

How many people have one? Is it a good investment? I was thinking of buying the Korallin 1502 package from Marine Depot
http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewI...tors-Saltwater_Aquarium_Supplies~vendor~.html

Is this a good reactor, is that a good package?
Would anyone suggest a diffrent reactor?

I have a 100gal tank with a 20gal sump.

That's the CA Reactor I have. Haven't yet hooked it up since my tank is new and in the cycle process. It's made in Germany and you know the Germans make good things. ;)

Ace if i was going to go full automated, how would i set all that up, and what is the litermeter 3 do? Sorry if this is to hard to explain here.

Thanks
