is there a difference between the light colored calicos compare to the dark calicos? mine are dark color and i see a lot of breeders with light colored calicos.

Calicoes are usually (not always) a cross from a regular brown and an albino, giving it colors from both. Your brown one has normal markings.

yea, i was a little confused because the juvie calicos on aquabid/other forums were lighter in color.

I agree, with that coloration it looks like a brown BN. They do exhibit some light areas from time to time when startled, or stressed a little or when you turn the lights on after they've been in the dark a while. Cute fish!

hmm it might just be my camera. i hate flash and never use it but had to for this photo. looking at him closely, i see he has a lighter orange spot/patch on his head but i guess he well remain an unknown. haha. :)

what about this female (sorry for the bad quality; screenshot)?

hmm thanks.
i guess i'll see how their babies look like whenever they breed. i actually bought this pair for a fair price. not overly expensive.

Regular calico BN do develop more brown pigment as they grow larger. If yours breed the fry will probably be lighter.

yea if they breed. haha. im not into breeding fish but the fish end up making babies so i always end up with more fish.
