why are many products known to the state of california known to cause cancer. my fishing pool said this(a fishing pole) many of the medicines for fish say this, and my test kit does. why on earth are they so paranoid??

I noticed that too....they do seem a little paranoid. Anyway, I like the warnings (even here in Illinois where that stuff doesn't cause cancer) as when I see them, I tend to be a little more careful with products that have that warning...even if they don't cause cancer, they can't be that good for you.
It's becuase of propisition 65. Any thing made or sold in california, that may harm a person over time is required to have the warning posted on it. The guide inserts on the pole, may have lead in them. Kind of like the split shot weights do.
