Camallanus Worms - now you see them, now you don't.

if you haven't tried Levamisole I would recommend you try it. I believe it targets Camallanus
you can read more info at inkmkrs website I listed above

tried..it seemed to work but i cant get a hold of any.

Since the new meds won't be here until Monday, I have this "food" which contains Metro, Prazi, and Levamisole, but I kinda doubt he will eat it. They're floating pellets, so I have some pre-soaking in some garlic juice and will try to squeeze the air out of them to sink.

I have tried that food..most of my fish never touched it..figured out it will sink if you crush them first..not enough to smash them, but just break the pellet and swish it around in the water for it to sink.

these things are a nightmare! what meds did you order?

did you contact inkmkr?? he use to sell it.

well before my local feed store ordered me a pack of prohibit...but they cant seem to get it anymore...going to try and contact inkmrk, but I have Levamisole flakes at the moment ..seeing if that will help.

Yeah, he wouldn't eat the stuff, maybe one pellet. You'd think they would at least try to make it palatable for fish, but reading the list of ingredients I don't see anything they'd find tasty. I ordered some fresh fenbendazole (the Safeguard 4 canine dewormer) and will mix up a batch with some good pellets. It worked great before, and did work for a time with this outbreak, but may well have lost potency since it was the last of the old stuff. I'd be happy to send you some pellets when they're done, just pm me your address if you'd like.

I just realized that I started this thread 5 months ago! Poor little guy still rests on the bottom, but is alert and wags his fins excitedly when he sees me. He hasn't gone gray and stripey or got clamped fins, so there's still hope.

I bought from him, haven't had worms since. Helps if you deworm ALL new fish in a QT tank before putting them in your main tanks. Otherwise, you'll always be deworming. But all animals can get worms, just normal to deworm 1x a year or when symptoms show.

soo...two days with out a worm sighting i my male yoma danio who has been the only one for a a while showing them....fingers crossed as i continue to medicate!

Great to hear, Kaosu.

Bo's worms seem to be bunched up by his vent, you can see a big bulge there. Tried peas, but he wasn't having any and I'm not sure they'd do any good anyway, with the hooks and all. This may be a problem.

The good news is, the meds arrived early, and big difference from the Panacur! Safeguard 4 seems way more water soluble, it looked like instant milk when I mixed it in water. Did a water change, then soaked some frozen bloodworms with a bit of garlic oil and 1/2 packet of the med. Dumped in entire contents and Bo ate heartily, which was good to see because he's getting skinny.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga of The Dreaded Camall-Anus Worms.

so frustrating..still no sight of worms for me today, good luck with your little guy.

when i dosed my tank i did one packet..seemed to kill all my MTS snails..(but thats fine i can get more)...few days later i dosed two packs for my 65g with the thought of..well F this Im so sick of this!!!..figured what happened happened.

my fingers are crossed for both of us!!

is your fish alone of are there other fish in the tank?....figures that it would be my largest tank with the most expensive fish.
