Yes. I think I would have to run some serious drain de-clogger to make sure the water can drain quickly.

the stopper portion may slow draining. typically there are vents built in which may also cause problems(if clogged). the only time I have issues with the bathroom sink is if the screen(my br sink that I use does not use a stopper) gets clogged with moss etc. it may cause an over flow.

The screen aerator really slows the water flow, no problem draining with it on. I have long hair that can cause trouble but the slow sink has had the trap replaced & the pop-up stopper just lifts out. Whatever it is it must be somewhere else.

Actually I just use the python adapter to get the syphon going & drain into the tub & then for refilling tanks. Wastes less water & with a 50 ft hose suction isn't great either way.

could be it's not venting

OK, I know you are trying to make this work from the sink...however:

There's a 'diverter' you could get for the shower...like an "A/B" switch for plumbing. If you had a regular showerhead AND a hand shower...that's what you would use to switch between 'em. except...switch it to your fill hose. you can find them on ebay, search "shower diverter" or at the local HW store.

OK, soapbox off, I'll shut up now:)
