can an oscar go with....

Corys have spines in their dorsal fins for protection if a large fish like an oscar were to eat a cory the spines could do a LOT of damage to the oscar resulting in two dead fish.

I had 3 big oscars in my big tank (just gave my smallest oscar away so down to the two biggest now) and I have 6 cory's, 2 long finned rosy barbs, a (now) huge tire track eel, green terror, and a mix of other fish. My Oscars don't seem to even notice anything but themselves and have never bothered anyone. They are so picky eaters that I have a hard time just finding pellets and other foods they will eat on a daily basis.
But again as others have stated, all fish are different and what one Oscar may do or not do can be different for another one. Only you know your fish and you will have to decide if it's worth trying or not.

personally i have kept morrey eels with my o's before. I had a 280 with fine gravel and lots of rock work. the goal was to get them at appropriate sizes so neither could fit the other in their mouth. I started both quite small, as some small breeds of morreys can tolerate fresh water, gradually increased salinity over about year as they grew. the oscars and morreys, and a jd and a sev, grew up great together, i really miss my tank. it was so fun to watch everyone interact together especially at feeding and waterchanges, they were all pretty sociable and didnt mind one another except for some pushing for attention.
While we are on the subject of tank mates for oscars, I am currently planning(slowly) a 640 tank. I would like to eventually have more than just my tiger o and jd in there and was curious about trying something a little different. does any one have any info or experience about rays and knife fish with o's. or any other cool suggestions. maybe an arro, or would he get too large for that tank? hmmm, maybe i should have started a new thread. I am new to this so let me know if my edicate was off here, and I appologize if it was.

i kno convict chiclets work well with oscars by experience.. and convicts with fry will accually keep a oscar 4x its size in the corner of a tank. right now i have two convicts with fry.. and my JD's cant move from befind a treasure chest without being charged at. but they do let them out feeding time.. after that there forced back :)

hmm i know this may get mixed feelings but i have my O with around...4 angelfish and he is fine with them. he has been with them since he was very little so i think he is used to being around them, and he is also housed with an ornate - i think you got loads of options!
