It could be a match. Looks like the growth is similar, with the tips being very red and the rest of the plant green.

His "red" plant is a NO3-deprived Limnophila aromatica. From the photo shown, the leaves look thicker so I am thinking something else. Could be a red temple.
The one in the pic seems almost to be spikes, or maybe even a spiked flower...
Regardless, the suggestions offered are some really cool-looking plants, and I may be off the hook - I think she's going to go with the Red Temple for the splash of color she's looking for.
Now if I could only find one of the elusive underwater flowering plants, tranquility and peace would return... LOL
