hope this is in the correct forum if not sorry ;-)

i have 2 german blue rams females
and 1 is now growing a good sized belly looks like she'll pop

not sure of there ages as lfs didnt know,
here are some pics... sorry if the quality is bad they are fast lil things lol

is this swelling normal?
is she expecting? how long are they pregnant for anyhow??
is she ill?
this week this started

also if there is any other info you would need pls ask so i can help you advise me on my questions many thanks in advance

That is not swollen with eggs. How is her poop? Is she eating?

If her scales on her body does not stick like a pinecone, that its not dropsy.

Constipation maybe?

Wow, I would say something is def. wrong. Like above stated if the scales are sticking out: dropsy, if not, next would be constipated but in the 2nd pic it appears that she is pooping.

How long have you had her?

I'm guessing some sort of internal parasites then. I would QT her and wait for someone else to diagnose (I'm no good when it comes to treatment/meds)

sorry for my delays (am off to bed its gone midnight here and ive tried to locate her within the tank but she and many others have bedded down for the night and i cant trace her...

how can you tell that she is not swollen with eggs?...would there be bump shape (i guess) ...

i will attempt to get her out and QT her in the morning (thank you)

another few questions... whats with the shelled peas?

she doesnt seem weird in herself, but am concern she'll pop is this possible??

and is it a condition others may fall pray to possably?
sorry for all this i just havent seen this before.. and she has got bigger over the past day or so..

can some just tell me how long rams are pregnant for, as i would like more although i know its rare to breed them in captivaty.
